Bisque Ware

Firing Range: 1230-1280°C (Cone 6-9)
Type: Opaque
Finish: Matt
Hazard Symbol: HARMFUL
Pack: 125ml

A beautiful vellum matt surface is produced on smooth bodies.  This glaze interacts attractively on iron bearing bodies producing a range of orange/tans.

Directions for Use:

Shake and Stir well before use. Apply 2 to 3 flowing coats to achieve the best results. These are applied at right angles to one another (i.e. crosshatched), allowing each to dry in-between. A soft glazing brush should be used in order to minimise streaking.

Application is recommended onto clay that has been bisque fired to cone 06 (1000°C), then glaze fired to between cone 5 to 9 (1180°C to 1270°C). If fired to a temperature outside of the maturing range of the clay crazing of the glaze can occur. This will allow liquids to seep through and therefore is not acceptable for domestic ware, but is often found to be acceptable for decorative pieces.
