Every potter’s workshop will have reclaim clay.  The problem the potter faces is how to deal with the process of recycling this product.  The most common way is to put scraps of dry clay or failed pots into a tub of water to allow the clay to break down.  The problem is then to remove the surplus water before re-processing the clay.  The  normal way is to spread the reclaim on to a porous surface to absorb the surplus water and remove the clay at just the right point to “wedge” the clay back to a plastic form.  With the plaster sink the reclaim can be spread within the sink to dry.  The walls retain the clay whatever its condition (liquid or not) from spilling.  Our plaster sink is the simple and tidy way to control your reclaim.

The Gleco Trap is an innovative, inexpensive solution to preventing clay and glaze materials blocking waste pipes. The system easily fits most standard sink cabinets areas and is easily maintained in minutes. Recommended for light to medium use.

The Gleco Trap is easily installed. The trap is connected below the sink and collects solids in a bottle, which has a fill line. when the solids reach the fill line, the trap is drained through a valve, the bottle is exchanged with a replacement bottle, the valve shut and the trap is back in service. Bottle exchange is rapid and done without the need of tools (less than 2 minutes).

The Clay Trap measures 552 x 400 x 270mm deep.  The cut-away lid in our illiustration reveals the two weirs, the inlet on the left and the outlet, which has a 76mm water seal on the right.  Both inlet and outlet have coupling nuts for joining to 38mm 'Vulcathene Mechanical’ pipe. Recommended for medium to heavy use.
