Stannic Oxide. One of the best known opacifers, escpecially in earthenware glazes. Also often used in conjunction with small percentages of copper to achieve sang de beouff reds in reduction.

Chemical Analysis: N/A
Useful as a flux in middle and high temperature glazes giving a wider firing range and good craze rsistance. About 10% produces a matt texture , especially under slow cooling.

5582 - ZIRCONIUM DIOXIDE
Chemical Analysis: N/A
Can also be known as Zircon or by varying "brand names". Our example is Zircosil 5. This is an ultra-fine form for use as an opacifier. Add 5-8% fir semi-opaque or 10-15% for opaque glazes.
