Underglaze pencils are easy to use for fine line drawing, writing, shading etc. Use on bisque ware. After decorating remove dust carefully with a soft brush. Glaze over with a low-solubility transparent glaze (earthenware0 for brightest results. It is possible that if a unleaded glaze is used the colours will be more subdued. Underglaze pencils are also ideal for permanent marking of trials. The crimson, yellow and purple pencils will all fire up to 1060°C. All other colours can be fired to 1260°C.

The temperature ranges are as follows:
Cone 04 - 06: All colours remain.
Cone 6: Most colours will remain, with the exception of crimson, yellow and purple.
Cone 9: Same as cone 6.
