This is a body developed for the potter who is looking for a versatile, plastic raku/tile body with good strength, ease of drying, re-fire capabilities, polishing, fineness and thermal shock resistance - is this possible? Give it a try - you won't be disappointed. When it was introduced to the Australian market this is one quote from a potter there.
"An exceptionally tolerant & versatile clay with outstanding shock resistant properties. Excellent for raku and pit firing. With multiple firing capabilites it can be fired well into the stoneware range. Ideal for both modelling and hand building techniques it has the added bonus of throwing particularly well. An exciting new clay especially for potters working in the raku area."
Jeff Mincham - Professional Potter and Raku specialist from Cherryville, South Australia.

Fires to a snow white and develops good translucency at 1240-1250°C upwards. If you are a porcelain user can you afford not to try it!

The latest clay to be added to our range of Walker Clays especially imported from Australia. This clay has been developed to offer a beautifully fine, white translucent porcelain that is imperial by name and by nature. It is perfect for throwing, hand building and pressing. This body has been throughly tested by legions of Auzzie potters, who have offered many approving comments such as “it is a lovely clay”, “so good to use”, “strong”, “very plastic” and “good joining properties”. Therefore it is apparent only the finest materials have been used to produce a premier porcelain body that is bound to develop a global reputation. At 1280°C this outstanding white clay is vitreous, translucent and will stand up to any comparisons the discerning ceramic artist wishes to make. We think you will agree that Imperial Porcelain is the first of a new generation of porcelains.
