A SIMPLE GUIDE TO THE USE OF THE PAINTEC SPRAY GUN
| It is recommended that you sieve glaze or colour through an 80’s mesh test lawn before using, to be ensure the mixed colour is free of lumps or coarse material that could block the spray gun. As with all spray equip the viscosity of the material being sprayed will determine the success. Glaze to be sprayed should always be of a thinner more watery consistency than if it were to be used for dipping. |
| Pour the glaze into the jar. Do not fill completely. Screw the bottle to the head of the sprayer. |
| Pump the handle quickly four or five times to start to spray. It is not necessary to pump continuously. Just pump from time to time to maintain the pressure and continuity of spray. |
| The spray pattern and consistency can be adjusted by rotating the nozzle on the tip of the gun. As the nozzle is rotated the spray will become finer and the spray pattern narrower. |
| The standard Spray Kit comes with a 0.6mm nozzle. Other sizes are available as an optional extra. The additional pack contains a 0.8mm, 1.0mm and 1.2mm nozzles. Use of the 1.0mm or 1.2mm nozzle requires the removal of the filter from the end of the feeder pipe. |
| If you want to spray a small amount of glaze or especially colour, use the small container. One is proved with the spray system, but additional packs of three are available. These small containers are all supplied with clip on lids to enable colour to be stored between use. |
| A useful tip is to extend the spray time, block the spray tip and release after ten pumps. This builds the pressure in the gun and it will spray for longer. |
| If you want to stop spraying, just stop pumping and the spray will stop after a few seconds or turn the air release valve and the spray will cease immediately. |
| To get the best performance from your Paintec it is essential to clean it between use thoroughly. Immediately after use rinse out the jar and partly fill with clean water. Spray until clean water only can be seen. |
